RAY WOOD
OWNER, INSTRUCTOR
Ray Wood is a long-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and retired Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Getting his start in MMA after a successful high school wrestling career, Wood began training at the highly recognized Young’s MMA in Maine in its early days. While training and fighting with the Young’s team, Wood obtained the Featherweight Professional Title for New England Fights and went on to secure two title defenses.
Wood’s career allowed him the opportunity to train and fight in multiple states across the US which developed and honed his unique style and approach. Wood’s career culminated in a win for the well-known Bellator organization and the opportunity to fight AJ McKee, who went on to become the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Pre Champion.
Coming back to Jiu-Jitsu after a successful fight career, Wood began training under Mark Bond at Dade City BJJ, where he is now an owner and head instructor.
TIANA WOOD
OWNER, COACH
Tiana Wood brings a different background and perspective to Dade City BJJ as a highly experienced and accomplished performance coach. A former collegiate track and field All-American at Boston College, Wood went on to serve as a coach at the DI and DII levels in both strength & conditioning and track and field. Her most notable accomplishments came in the form of two National Championship titles and various individual national champions at West Texas A&M University.
Wood holds certifications and expertise in strength and conditioning, nutrition, and mental performance and authored, The Grit Book - Guided Journaling for Athletes and Coaches. She supports DCBJJ’s members and fighters through optimizing performance. Tiana is also DCBJJ’s personal trainer and Women’s Fitness instructor.
MARK BOND
OWNER, BJJ INSTRUCTOR
Zephyrhills Brazilian Jiujitsu is the sister school of Dade City BJJ. Zephyrhills Brazilian Jiujitsu is owned and operated by Mark Bond who is an IBJJF Pan American Champion at Blue Belt, IBJJF Pan American Champion at Purple Belt, IBJJF Pan American Champion at Brown Belt, and an IBJJF Pan American Placer at Black Belt having fought some of the greatest in the art such as Megaton. Additionally, Mark Bond won Master Worlds Nogi as a Blue Belt and placed multiple times at IBJJF Master Worlds including a 2nd place finish in his division and a 3rd place finish in the Absolute Division at the same tournament. Add to these accomplishments numerous local and regional Championships at NAGA, NEWBREED, and Grappling Industries and you find that Mark Bond has evolved a unique and effective approach to training and learning Brazilian Jiujitsu.
Mark Bond founded and operated Dade City BJJ for several years before passing it on to Coach Ray "All Business" Wood who was a professional MMA fighter, long-time BJJ practitioner, and former high school wrestler. Presently, members of Zephyrhills Brazilian Jiujitsu and Dade City BJJ benefit from access to both schools and the advantage that being able to cross-train periodically offers to BJJ practitioners.
Facility
Dade City BJJ is equipped to accommodate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts training with approximately 1000 sq. ft. of mat space, a weight training area, cage panels, and Muay Thai heavy bags. Members enjoy access to all gym equipment included with their membership for use during open gym hours.
